Tribute to American Music: A Veterans Day and America 250 Celebration

About this event
Join us on the week of Veterans Day for a celebration of American music! The program will include powerful patriotic classics like “America the Beautiful” and “My Country, ‘Tis of Thee,” songs celebrating traditional American musical styles such as spirituals and folk hymns, and works by great American composers such as George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein, and Aaron Copland. Popular American choral arrangers, such as Elaine Hagenberg, Dan Forrest, and Moses Hogan, will also be featured. Musical highlights include the spiritual “Deep River,” the folk hymn “My Song in the Night,” and “Somewhere,” from West Side Story. Join us in commemorating 250 years of America with a celebration of the music that makes us unique! Presented by SCERA Chamber Singers, a premier adult audition choir, directed by Miriam Burton This calendar listing is brought to you by NowPlayingUtah.com, Utah's one-stop, online website for arts and entertainment events, powered by the Utah Cultural Alliance.
